New Life Community

Moving from homelessness to independence can be a very big step. New Life Community guides residents through the process by offering expert training on how to find a job with benefits, how to manage childcare and other responsibilities, and how to secure adequate long-term housing.

Who Qualifies?
Those who meet a strict list of required criteria are invited to apply at:
New Life Community
3470 E. 152 Street (off Kinsman Avenue)
between the hours of 10 and 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Program Overview
A cornerstone of the New Life Community program is Securing Independence Through Employment (S.I.T.E.). Once accepted, heads of household participate in an integrated curriculum that combines on-site instruction with individual, needs-directed counseling. In addition, volunteer budget advisors and specially assigned Resident Family Specialists work regularly with residents to create positive, self-sufficient outcomes. Various before- and after-school children’s programs, including those centered in Balloon Factory, a special New Life space just for kids, make living and learning truly a family affair.
